Motorized porch screens mount in a slim housing at the top of each opening — usually tucked above the beam or inside the ceiling on new construction — with side tracks that hold the mesh tight in wind. Mesh choice does the work: insect screen for bugs and a bit of shade, solar screen for sun and privacy, clear vinyl for cold-weather enclosure. Each opening gets its own motor, and the whole set runs from a wall keypad, your phone, or the same Lutron or Control4 system as the rest of the house.

What do motorized porch screens cost?

Motorized porch screens typically run $3,500 to $6,000 per opening depending on width, mesh, and whether the housing is recessed. Most porches have three or four openings. Full ranges are on our pricing page.

Can they be added to an existing porch?

Yes. Surface-mounted housings and tracks install on most existing porches in one to two days, with power run to each motor.

Will they hold up in wind and winter?

Side tracks keep the mesh taut in normal wind; wind sensors retract the screens automatically in gusts. In winter they stay rolled up in the housing, protected from ice and snow.

Can they run on my Lutron or Control4 system?

Yes — screens become another motorized shade in the system and join scenes, schedules, and voice control.

How long is the lead time?

Custom screens are made to measure; plan on four to eight weeks from order to install. Order in spring to have them for summer, or in late summer for fall porch season.
